If you can’t hear anything in a miingl session—or others can’t hear you—that’s usually due to common audio issues like muted settings, incorrect output selection, low volume, or device routing problems.
This guide walks through quick checks and fixes you can try before contacting support.
By following this guide, you’ll be able to resolve:
No audio or silence
Very low volume
Audio routing to the wrong device
Intermittent or distorted sound
Bluetooth conflicts
Before anything else, check that:
Your microphone isn’t muted in miingl
Your system audio isn’t muted
Your headset or speakers aren’t muted
Sometimes the simplest things are the ones that block audio.
On desktop:
Press the volume keys
Make sure the correct output device is selected in your system sound settings
On Android (especially Samsung phones):
Press the volume up button on the side
Tap More on the vertical volume slider that appears
Increase the Ringtone volume (the second slider from the right) — this often affects how loud audio is in miingl on Samsung devices.
This addresses a known Samsung-specific audio volume issue.
If you’re using:
Bluetooth headphones: try turning Bluetooth off and back on
Wired headphones: unplug and plug them back in
Speakers: make sure the correct device is selected in your system’s audio settings
Many conferencing tools route audio to the wrong device when Bluetooth is active or when multiple devices are connected.
miingl includes a research icon you can use to refresh your audio connection without leaving the venue. Tap that after switching devices (like turning Bluetooth on/off) and see if it restores sound.
This often resolves audio routing glitches quickly.
Make sure your browser or device has allowed:
Microphone access
Speaker/audio playback
Without these permissions, the app can’t receive or play sound.
Poor or unstable internet can cause audio dropouts or silence. If possible:
Switch to a stronger Wi-Fi network
Use wired Ethernet on desktop
miingl provides a signal strength indicator on your and other participnats video heads so you can see when it's weak
Stable audio over web conferencing works best with consistent upload/download speeds.
Restarting your phone or computer often clears software conflicts and resets audio drivers or routing issues.
If you’re on a Samsung Android device and audio is still very low:
Use the volume keys then More to adjust the multiple volume sliders — media and ringtone volumes can affect app sound independently. TechWiser
Check for app-specific audio settings; some Android phones allow independent volume per app. Android Central
If none of the above work:
Your device’s speaker may be malfunctioning
There may be a deeper issue with your audio hardware or OS
