If you’re joining miingl for the first time, you don’t need to prepare, create an account, or know how everything works.
In your first five minutes, you can find a public event or suite, join as a guest, and be part of a real conversation—without pressure or commitment. This guide shows you what that experience usually looks like.
In your first few minutes on miingl, you’ll be able to:
Find a public event or suite
Join as a guest without signing in
Enter a shared space and get oriented
Join a cluster conversation naturally
Most people start by browsing the miingl event forum, where public events and open suites are listed.
You can explore:
What’s happening right now
Upcoming workshops
Open community spaces
If someone shared a direct link with you, you can also use that to request access, even if the event isn’t listed publicly.
There’s no wrong choice here. Pick something that feels interesting rather than “important.”
When you select an event or suite, you’ll see the option to Join as a Guest. Click that option to enter without creating an account.
Depending on the host’s settings, you may enter immediately or be asked to provide an email address before joining.
Before you enter the space, you’ll be guided through a short setup:
Add a display name so others know who you are
Take a quick photo, which becomes your avatar if your camera is off
Enable your camera and microphone
Choose the audio and video settings that work best for you
This setup usually takes less than a minute and helps ensure you’re comfortable once you’re inside. Nothing is locked in—you can change your settings later if needed.
Before entering, you’ll take a quick photo. This becomes your avatar if your camera is off and helps others recognize who’s actually present.
Once inside, take a moment to look around:
Notice where conversations are happening in the form of Clusters
See who’s already there
Get a feel for the pace and energy
You will be able to speak to hear other participants who are not in a cluster. This is a familiar video conference venue experience.
When you’re ready, use Click-to-Cluster™ to join a conversation that feels interesting.
You might:
Join a small group already talking
Listen quietly at first
Turn your camera on if you feel comfortable
Movement is expected. No one is interrupted when you join, and it’s always okay to move again if the conversation isn’t the right fit.
Within a few minutes, most guests find themselves:
Talking with a host or another participant
Listening and contributing at their own pace
Feeling more relaxed than they expected
There’s no formal introduction required. Conversations begin the same way they do in real life—by being present.
It’s common to feel a little uncertain at first. miingl is different from traditional online tools, and that difference can take a moment to land.
Give yourself permission to:
Observe
Move slowly
Join and leave conversations
The space is designed to support curiosity, not performance.
