Joining a miingl session is designed to be quick and low-pressure, even if it’s your first time.
This guide walks you through how to find a session, join as a participant, and enter the space feeling oriented and ready to engage. A short video is included if you prefer to watch instead of read.
By following this guide, you’ll be able to:
Find a public miingl event or suite
Join a session as a participant or guest
Set up your name, camera, and audio
Enter the space and begin participating
If you’d rather watch the process, this short video shows exactly how joining a miingl session works from start to finish.
Start by visiting miingl.com and opening the Public Events area.
Here you’ll see:
Public workshops and events
Open suites you can enter right away
You can also join a session using a direct link if one was shared with you.
Choose something that looks interesting—there’s no wrong place to start.
A Digital Office (an always-open suite), or
A specific event listing with details
Click Enter Suite to join right away, or open the event page if you want more context before entering.
When you enter, you’ll be prompted to join the session.
Depending on the space, you may:
Click Join as a Guest, or
Enter your name and email address to continue
You do not need to create an account to join most public sessions.
Before entering the space, you’ll complete a short setup:
Add a display name so others know who you are
Take a quick photo, which becomes your avatar if your camera is off
Enable your camera and microphone
Choose your audio and video settings
This step helps ensure you’re recognizable and comfortable once inside. You can change these settings later if needed.
Once setup is complete, click Enter Suite to join the session.
You’ll arrive in a shared space where you can:
See who’s present
Observe ongoing conversations
Join a group when you’re ready
You’re never required to speak immediately. Take a moment to look around and get your bearings.
It’s okay to observe before joining a conversation
Movement is expected—you won’t interrupt anyone by joining or leaving
Turning your camera on makes it easier for others to connect with you
You can always adjust your audio or video settings later
miingl works best when you engage at your own pace.
